Why do we organize? Or, how did we start getting involved? Sharing your story can be a powerful tool in organizing, from inspiring others to take action or get involved to showing that powerful movements are made up of regular people coming together.
Join us at the Shaw Library from 11 am to 12:30 pm on Saturday, August 13th for a training on how to share your story and learn more about the ACLU DC’s volunteer programs. During this workshop, we’ll discuss:
- -Why is personal advocacy needed and why does it work so well?
- Skills for strong storytelling
- Hear sample stories from seasoned organizers
- Meet more members of the ACLU DC community
After the workshop, we’ll host an optional “bring your own” picnic at Logan Circle so we can chat and get to know each other. We hope to see you there!
