In September 2014 we joined with the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press and 23 media entities (including The Washington Post, Gannett, NBC Universal, and National Public Radio) in filing an amicus brief in the D.C. Court of Appeals arguing that the denial of a “special motion to dismiss” under the D.C. Anti-SLAPP statute is subject to immediate appeal. This is the same issue presented in the Mann case, and now that the issue has been decided in that case, an order calling for briefs on the merits of this case will probably arrive soon.
